This page explains what WatchNest processes, what it stores, and how that data is used.

1. What WatchNest does

WatchNest is a browser extension and website that help users create private Netflix watch sessions with synced playback, chat, reactions, and optional small-group camera features.

2. Data WatchNest processes

WatchNest may process profile names, room identifiers, room membership, chat messages, invite links, playback synchronization metadata, and customer support contact details. Billing and subscription data are handled by Stripe. WatchNest does not store full payment card details on its own servers.

3. Browser-side data

The extension stores local settings needed for product functionality, such as a generated display name, interface preferences, and a premium access token if you choose to save one. This data remains in your browser until you clear it.

4. Camera and microphone

Camera and microphone access are only used when you explicitly enable these features. Media streams are exchanged live between participants for communication purposes and are not recorded or stored by WatchNest by default.

5. Sharing and service providers

WatchNest may share limited data with infrastructure and billing providers that are necessary to operate the service, such as Cloudflare, Render, and Stripe. Chat messages and room presence are visible to the participants in the same room. WatchNest does not sell personal data and does not use personal data for advertising.

6. Purpose limitation

WatchNest uses Netflix page context and playback metadata only to deliver its single purpose: creating private watch parties with synced playback and communication features. WatchNest does not use that data for unrelated profiling, resale, or advertising.

7. Retention and security

Active room state is designed to be transient. Session data is retained only as long as needed to operate the room, troubleshoot service issues, or comply with legal obligations. WatchNest uses reasonable security measures appropriate to a small SaaS product, but no service can guarantee absolute security.
